Illalangi El Primera Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Created from olives grown on the hills surrounding the Murray River, in South Australia’s Riverland Region, Illalangi’s Extra Virgin Olive Oil is a mild, fresh, fruity oil. It’s suitable for everyday use such as wok and pan frying, drizzling over meat, pasta, vegetables and bruschetta, dressing a salad or dipping with crusty bread.

Illalangi’s single estate Extra Virgin Olive Oil is created from two Spanish varieties, Arbequina i-18 and Arbosana i-43, sourced from our super high-density grove at Cadell in South Australia’s Riverland. Planted in 2003, the grove was the first commercial planting of these super high-density varieties in Australia.

Storing oil, particularly extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), in a cask—often referred to as a "bag-in-box"—offers significant advantages for preserving quality, reducing environmental impact and improving convenience.

Fresh to the last drop! Freshness is the key to quality olive oil, and that is why we package all our larger volume EVOO products “bag in box”. The 'bag in box' protects our oil from its two greatest enemies - light and oxygen, keeping the oil fresher, for longer.

Convenient and Mess-Free Dispensing: Casks feature a built-in, drip-free tap that enables precise, mess-free pouring without funnels or "glugging" from heavy bottles.

Cost-Effective: Casks generally offer better value, acting as an economical way to purchase premium olive oil in larger quantities (e.g., 2L to 10L).

Eco-Friendly Packaging: The cardboard outer container is recyclable, and the design is more sustainable than glass bottles, producing less waste.

Portability and Safety: The lack of glass makes casks durable and ideal for travel, such as in caravans or for camping.

Minimal Waste: The bag shrinks, allowing almost all of the oil to be dispensed, reducing leftovers.
